iS THIS LEAGUE FOR FEMALES ONLY?

• Yes, as currently constructed, the ABHL is focused exclusively on growing the game of basketball for our female athletes.

WHERE WILL GAMES BE PLAYED?

• All recreational games will be played indoor on wood courts.  Our current locations include, but are not limited to:

  • Primary Location for 4th-8th Grade League

    • Our Lady of Lourdes Academy

    • 5525 SW 84th St. Miami, FL 33143

  • Alternative Location

    • Christopher Columbus High School

    • 3000 SW 87th Ave Miami, FL 33165

IS THERE A TRYOUT?

• No, the ABHL is a recreational league with doors open for all females of all skill levels.  If you want to play, you will play.

  • For the 4th-8th grade league all players will be drafted by a paid coach to their respective team.  There is a showcase in which the athletes are put through a series of drills and game action.  All coaches are present and evaluating for the draft that takes place immediately following the showcase session.

WHERE WILL PRACTICES BE HELD?

• For the 4th-8th grade league, practices will be combined across all teams at one of our primary high school gym locations.

HOW OFTEN ARE THE PRACTICES?

• For the 4th-8th grade league, practices will be scheduled 1 time per week, usually for 1 hour. Practice attendance is encouraged to foster skill development and team chemistry, but we recognize there are other commitments and this is a recreational league.

HOW OFTEN ARE THE GAMES?

• Games are held once a week. Our 4-8th grade league plays Saturdays between the hours of 1-5pm

WHAT GEAR IS NEEDED?

• ABHL will provide reversible game jerseys that must be worn for all games as well as basketballs for practices and games. Players are to provide black shorts, water bottle, basketball sneakers, knee pads (optional). No jewelry can be worn during games.
